Os gòbids (Gobiidae) são peixes distribuídos a bastament pelas águas litorais e alguns dos seus representantes se encontram também às águas salabroses e às maresmes e zonas palustres. Em Europa existem até 19 espécies que podem frequentar estes ambientes aquàtics.
Descrição
- São peixes de medida pequena, bentònics, de corpo alongado e relativamente largo à parte anterior, e que apresentam um chefe bem desenvolvido.
- Apresentam as aletes pèlviques unidas entre se formando uma pequena ventosa que os serve para se pegar às rochas ou aos acidentes do fundo.
